GSA just completed a great showing at the US Youth Soccer Southern Regional tournament that was held in Dallas, TX from June 18th through June 24th. GSA sent four teams along with 17 other teams from clubs across Georgia. The GSA 92 Phoenix Red Boys (U17) and the GSA 93 Phoenix Red Boys (U16) both had great games during the tournament but did not advance out of round robin play. Both had a tough bracket and played excellent soccer throughout the tournament. The GSA 92 Phoenix Red Girls (U17) and the GSA 93 Phoenix Red Girls (U16) were absolutely incredible throughout the tournament. Both teams excited the bracket winner in round robin play and advanced to the quarter finals. The U17 girls scored an impressive 4-1 over the FC Alliance team from Tennessee while the U16 girls battled it out against in-state rival Concorde, winning 3-2 in overtime. However, both teams found the semi-final match to be a handful as both teams drew the Dallas Sting in their appropriate age groups. The U17 girls were able to dispense with the U17 Sting team 2-1 while the U16 girls retired the U16 Sting team with a 1-0 victory. This propelled both teams into their final match on Wednesday. The U17 girls met the AFC Lightning team in an all Georgia final for their age group. The girls played incredibly well against a talented AFC team with the score going 0-1, 1-1, 2-1, 2-2 and finally a goal late in the game to crown the GSA girls as Regional Champions with a final score of 3-2. The U16's took to the field just after the U17's finished and played their long time rival, the U16 Ponta Vedra team from Florida. The girls played in tough conditions and ultimately surrendered one goal in the first half and another goal in the second half....making the U16's the Regional Finalists with a final score of 0-2. All of the teams, coaches and parents represented GSA and Georgia with class and dignity and it was a pleasure to watch all of them compete throughout the week at Regional's. They continue to make us proud on and off the field and we look forward to following both the U16 Boys and the U17 Girls as they represent GSA, Georgia and Region III in the upcoming US Youth Soccer National Championship tournament that will be held in Lancaster, MA from July 21st through July 26th. The U16 Boys will be representing us as National League representative while the U17 Girls will represent us as Regional Champions.

GSA 96 Phoenix Red Boys Win Classic 1
Congratulations to the GSA 96 Phoenix Red Boys as they win first place this spring in Classic 1. The boys are playing extremely well and it was a huge accomplishment to finish in first place in this very competitive division. We'd like to recognize the effort of all the boys as well as Alphonso Bonilla, their coach. Well done guys!
Congratulations to the GSA U11 Boys Arsenal team that won both the AFC Lightning Tournament and the GSA Super Cup tournament this spring. The tournaments top off a great season by the team and GSA congratulations the team, their parents and the coaches. The Arsenal was coached by Junuz Coralic at the Lightning tournament and Mike Farnham at the Super Cup tournament.
GSA Recognizes ODP PlayersWe are very proud of the GSA players who represent Georgia, Region 3 of US Youth Soccer and our National team program. GSA is among the top clubs in Georgia who place this many players in the ODP program and have more ODP players as a percentage of our membership than any other club in Georgia. Congratulations to the players and coaches for these outstanding results.

Despite some challenges provided by mother nature, the GSA boy's earned their way into the US Youth Soccer's premier event, the US Youth Soccer National Championships that will be held in Lancaster, MA from July 21 through July 26th. The boys played in rain, snow and endured some pretty cold weather but at the end of the day they finished as runner-ups in the U16 Division of the National League and earned their way to the most prestigious event in youth soccer. Thanks to US Youth Soccer, you can see some of the play in their video by CLICKING HERE. Congratulations to all of the boys, the coaches and their parents on a fantastic finish as R3PL Champions, U16 National League Finalists and upcoming US Youth Soccer Championship Series participants. Well Done!
